Sharon's Accident, Updates, & Scheduling Family Holiday Activities

On Saturday, November 9th, Sharon was mopping the stairs that go from the kitchen to the laundry room when she slipped on the wet floor & landed really hard on her tailbone, hip, & elbow right on the sharp edge of the stairs.  We went to the ER immediately for Xrays, which were negative, but our regular Dr called & wants her to come in for an appointment this Tuesday to check for possible internal injuries.  She has been really sore ever since the accident, and can't sit, stand, or lie down without pain.  We gave her a blessing at Kevin & Shana's last Sunday, but recovery has been slow & hard.

I went in Thursday and got the casts off but one of them caused a big new sore on my right shin.  Now they have me in air cast boots that pump up to make walking difficult.  I'm trying to stay off my feet to get them to heal but it's hard with so many things we want & should be doing to get ready for winter.  Sharon has to drive me or run errands for me, which adds to her burdens. I don't like to be kept immobile.  We enjoy being active & doing all the things we usually do.

We especially want to be involved with all the family activities that are going on this time of year, especially since we were gone from here all of last November & most of December.  Sharon and I would really like to be included more in what you do with your families.  Our grandkids are so important to us, so please keep us informed of their activities so we can be there as often as possible.

We wish we could do more of a family gathering around Thanksgiving time some years like we used to.  We could plan on enough variety of foods for everyone's needs  to be satisfied.  We'd like to plan to get together for a family activity sometime during the Thanksgiving weekend next year.  Please give us your feedback.

We also want to plan a get together for Christmas this year.  How would the Sunday before Christmas, December 22, work for everyone?  Please give us your feedback on this also. Thanks.

  1. Dad, we hope you and Sharon heal quickly. Sunday December 22 would work for us to get together. Also, it would work great for us to plan on getting together with everyone next year on Thanksgiving day for dinner.

  2. I already typed a comment but it suddenly disappeared! The same thing happened yesterday. How can I make it not do that? It's very frustrating.
We went down to Payson this morning to see the Dr about my feet. He still thinks there is infection in the bone of the second toe of my right foot so he is going to remove the infected bone next Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. That's better than shortening 2 toes like he suggested before we did all the antibiotics.

Sharon had to postpone her appointment till tomorrow. We love you.
