;D So, this is announcing that we are expecting a baby girl! We are very happy! Her ultrasound pictures are actually very cute! She may have a more pointed nose kind of like Rachel, and cute girly lips. She spread her hand out and we got her picture "giving us 5." She kicks and moves a lot. We're thinking about the names Karie and Beth or Bethany, though we'll leave it open until the birth.
Scott and I wanted to find out all together as a family so after the ultrasound we got the information (the gender) in an envelope. We gave the info to our neighbor and she helped us by baking some cookies with either blue or pink M&M's hidden in the center. So after much anticipation and on the count of 3 we all bit into a cookie, and of course we saw Pink. Poor Scott couldn't see his M&Ms, so he needed to have a few more for proof. ;D Though most of us felt excited about how it would be to have a boy we know it's the person Heavenly Father is sending us that matters. We need her and she needs us. It's all very fascinating and wonderful.
So that is our news! Life is good and we are grateful and blessed.
Congratulations! What a lucky little girl she'll be to have so many big sisters (plus a big-brother for good measure). I love how you planned the unveiling.

ReplyDeleteI love your title! And your attitude about the whole thing. I read an article about a family in the midwest that just had their 12th son - no daughters. The article quoted a doctor that said cases like that are more than just an odd statistic - there's something genetic about it. Interesting. Anyway, We're so excited for you!

ReplyDeleteThanks! Derek said he'd rather tell people he has 7 sisters than to have to go to the effort to say he has 6 sisters and one brother. LOL. He's used to his role as the brother, and we're glad he's excited about the baby.
