Brian

Sorry I haven't been better at updating about Brian. He  slept most of the day on Monday but by Tuesday he was doing much better. He was able to get some grading done and he could focus on activities. He could barely sleep that night because he knew that on Weds afternoon he would be seeing the doctor who would make the determination about his trip to Singapore.

His check-up was at the trauma clinic and they were very thorough. The doctor felt like Brian had been vigilant in his recuperation and he cleared Brian for travel! Brian's work had offered to fly me out to Singapore with Brian but the doctor felt like Brian had recovered enough to fly by himself if necessary as long as Brian rests and doesn't overstrain himself. After prayer and careful consideration, we decided that it would better for the kids if I stayed home this time.

So, basically Brian had four days at this point to get ready for a three week trip including finishing his grades before he leaves. His work colleagues have been incredible and have really taken over many of his responsibilities. A few of them offered to take Brian's place for the study abroad if needed. One friend did a graduate thesis defense for Brian this week even though his son was getting married the next day. The registrar's office held 67 students' grades while Brian recovered and now the secretaries have to fill out 67 forms so that the grades can be posted.

Thanks to everyone who has been praying for and thinking of Brian. The doctor said that Brian really suffered quite a severe head injury and he was impressed with Brian's progress. Thanks for your concern for the kids and me as well. It's been hard on our family to have Brian laid up and it will be hard to have him gone but we're looking forward to spending time with him again in June.
