Our Christmas Miracle

I thought I'd update you all on our situation. We're still waiting. Scott has been interviewing with two different companies here in Salt Lake, but it seems they won't be making any decisions until after the holidays. We're a little confused because we've both felt all along that it was time for us to leave Utah, and that Scott doesn't need to settle for a job that is way below where he's been. (Both of these jobs pay significantly less than he has been making but enough to just barely pay all our expenses.) But we both feel really strongly that the Lord wants Scott to finish his familysearch,org projects, and he needs more time. And the idea of putting all our things in storage and moving in with someone for an indefinite amount of time is very stressful and unappealing.

So, yesterday, we added up all that we have and compared it with what we'll need to survive one more month. When we did this a few weeks ago, it didn't add up, but when we did it yesterday, there was plenty. We have received a few very generous checks (Thank you, thank you, thank you!), but not enough to completely explain the excess. We can only describe it as a miracle. So, we are planning to wait things out for one more month, and hope that either one of these jobs comes through to help us last until Scott finishes his project, or that he'll be able to work really quickly and get it done.

Another huge blessing is that Scott reconnected with a friend who now works with Ruby on Rails, and is very excited to help with the project. He really needs someone to bounce ideas of off and to help point him in the right direction when he gets stuck, so this is great.

We feel very blessed, and while we pray everyday that all this craziness will end and we can get back to our normal lives, we also pray that we'll never forget the amazing lessons we're learning through all of this. Thank you so much for your love and concern and prayers for us.

In other news, Anna is now a very active crawler! Her hair has gotten thicker, and now comes down over her ears, making her seem much older. She gave up nursing, and only wants to feed herself. She is getting her top two teeth. She's still really happy, and laughs at the silliest things. She is so much fun to have around.

Mary danced in her first recital last week! She was a little nervous, but she did great. It was fun to watch her do something on her own like that. We're still working with a gastroenterologist to get her tummy feeling better. It's amazing what a difference that makes on her behavior.

Daniel is so happy to be 5! He has officially declared that he now likes dinosaurs more than trains. He's kind of obsessed, actually, but he still gets really excited about all things with wheels too.
