Kristi and I are wondering if any of you would be interested in coming over to our house for an adult's game night some evening next week. It would work for us on Wednesday (26th), Friday (28th), or Saturday (29th). Would anyone interested and if so which of those days do you like?
I thought it would be a fun way to spend some time together. We could play different types of games depending on what people are in the mood for and how many people want to come. I, as you may know, tend to enjoy strategy oriented "euro" board games with 4-5 player that take about 2 hours or so, but if others prefer more "party" type group games or shorter games, we can play those too. We now have a game table in our basement, so we have room for multiple games simultaneously.
We would love a game night. I think Tina wanted to get everyone together on the 28th, including kids, but we could come to a game night on Wednesday or Saturday.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds fun. Scott's parents are in town tomorrow, and we have plans on Friday and Saturday nights, so I don't think we'll be able to make it this time.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited! Dad would like to have us all over to dinner on Saturday, because he is not available on Friday. So if it works for everyone else, I would love to do games for adults on Friday night. Thanks for inviting us Mark and Kristi!
ReplyDeleteI thought the dinner at dad's was on Sunday? We have plans on Saturday. Our Friday has opened up, and we may be able to come, but we'd have to bring our kids.
ReplyDeleteIt seems a little confusing to follow what everyone thinks we are doing on different nights here :).
ReplyDeleteI also thought we were having dinner at Dad and Sharon's home on Sunday, but has it changed to Saturday? Does anyone have the official word on this?
Obviously, Wednesday is out (we saw Les Miserables tonight and enjoyed it).
So, does a game night in fact work here at our house on Friday for anyone? If anyone would like to attend that needs to bring their children, we can make that work - we can turn on a movie somewhere or something. We were just thinking that if everyone brought their kids it would be hard to actually have enough space or quiet to play games, and we may want to play later than some kids' bed times.
Lisa, if you and Scott would like, Maryn has told us that she would really enjoy babysitting your children that evening at your house free of charge. She won't want to be here, and she really likes your kids. But of course, no pressure - if you want to bring your kids here, that's great as well.
We are interested in playing games on Friday. What time were you planning for games Mark? We will need to bring Miles with us, but if you have space we could put him to bed depending on how late we play. Also, would you like us to bring any games or snacks with us?
ReplyDeleteI talked to Dad. He was planning to invite everyone over Sunday, but Tina's leaving then, so he'd like to change it to Saturday. We will come to game night, Mark.
ReplyDeleteSoryy, I mean we'll come to game night Friday, and then we plan to go to Dad's house Saturday.
ReplyDeleteLet's plan to start around 6:30. Bring any games or snacks you want but you don't need to bring anything.
ReplyDeleteWe won't be able to come after all. Scott's parents will be with us this evening. Hope you all have fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone who came last night. We had a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteWe recently were taught to play a game we've owned for a couple of years but never played called Power Grid. Its really fun. If anyone is ever interested in getting to gather to play board games, let me know.

I really like it, but its kind of an unexpected single choice.
I enjoyed that, but man they look old.
ReplyDeleteI was confused about what you meant - when I posted that link earlier today, it was only the audio stream no video.
