Brian Griffin is a photographer who took photos that were used by a lot of bands in the 80's for their album covers. Above is a photograph by him I really like titled "Bureaucracy".
He took the cover photos for Depeche Modes first 5 albums, Echo & The Bunnymen's first four albums, as well as album covers and promotional photos for several other artists. Here is a link to his sight where you can view a lot of his band photography.
