Fun 4th

We had a fun week this past week. Alexa got her Lego Club Jr. magazine which challenged her to build her favorite summer activity. She is looking forward to getting to ride roller coasters so she built one, complete with an operators booth, and turnstiles:

For the 4th of July, we went to our local parade. We hadn't ever been before and we didn't know what to expect. We met up with another family in the ward that goes every year. It was a lot of fun. It was a long parade, but it was overcast so we did not get too hot. They also throw out a lot of candy. Both our kids came home with a bag full of it.

In the evening we had a couple of families over for a barbecue. The kids had fun playing together, the adults enjoyed getting to talk, and we had a lot of good food, including this festive treat Sarah made:

We also did some fireworks together:

  1. We've been getting the Lego Club magazine for years but I didn't know about Lego Club Jr. Elena loves to play with the online Lego designer and has her own Lego sets, too. Does Trevor also get the regular one?

  2. Trevor does get the regular one. Lego Club Jr is for ages 6 and under. Trevor started getting it when he was young and when he turned 7 they automatically switched him to Lego Club.
