April Fools Day

Last year Sarah played a few tricks on the kids for April Fools Day, and they have been waiting ever since then to see how she was going to top it this year. The day finally came and the kids were not disappointed. They woke up this morning to find mustaches drawn on their faces, and their light switches were taped down. Sarah had also painted Trevor's nails in the night.
We didn't do too much throughout the day, other than Trevor hiding the batteries from all the remotes.  For dinner Sarah had some more tricks up her sleeve. We told the kids that for April Fools day we were going to eat dinner backwards and eat cake first:

In reality it was meatloaf covered in mashed potatoes, with tomatoes on top. Alexa was a bit disappointed to find out that the cake had tomatoes on it, but Trevor thought it was quite funny. It tasted really good by the way.

After that we had grilled cheese sandwiches:
These were made from pound cake (sliced and toasted) with cheese colored butter cream as the filling. Also quite tasty. Here is a video of the kids trying them:

As you can see from the video. We have Brian visiting this weekend. The kids have really enjoyed having him here, and we have all enjoyed getting to watch conference this weekend.

  4. There is not really a recipe. We just made meatloaf in cake pans. We did two layers with bbq sauce in between layers. Then frosted it with mashed potatoes. Then added cherry tomatoes as a garnish.
