We enjoyed a short visit from Tina!

The 17,000 youth in our temple district, and their leaders walked to the temple one rainy Saturday morning. We watched them walk and gather and sing. The dedication was the next week on Sunday, May 20.

May was not very eventful, but June was full of fun! Poor Jack had a miserable time, though. We have a bully cat nearby that keeps attacking him. He spent about 3 weeks shut in the sun room with his cone collar on for a gaping wound on his tail. Just as it was healing, and we took the cone off and let him roam again, he was attacked again! So now, we've instituted a kitty curfew of 8pm. It seems to be working pretty well.

The good thing about having Jack injured is that he's always a lot more snugly. When well, he would never plop down this near any of us.

 We went to the South Jordan Summer Fest and met some Lego characters and princesses.

 We went to Boise one weekend while the kids were off-track. (It's so crazy that they were off-track in June, and still had to go back to school.)  Scott's mom had knee replacement surgery in April, and is still recovering, and in lots of pain.

I went on a field trip with Daniel's class to the Capitol.

We went to a Spencer Family Reunion at Cherry Hill.

We had a crazy hail storm that lasted 15 minutes! It was awesome to watch, but sad for our garden.

 We went to the Carlson Family Reunion near Burley, ID. We camped just one night and then went to the City of Rocks National Reserve. It was awesome.

There are over 700 climbing locations! Here we watched a 7 year old girl repel down this 200 ft cliff!

It was a popular camping spot for people traveling to the gold rush. Several left their name and date they were there.

 We lost a lot of teeth in May and June. Daniel had 3 pulled. Mary lost one and had one pulled, and Anna lost 2! (In July, she lost another and was singing "All I want for the 4th of July is my 2 front teeth.)

The not fun parts were our ceiling problem, that we're still working on, and the negative effects of way too much anxiety for all of us. Scott has run out of things to do at work, but they still haven't let him go. He's applying and interviewing, but no offers yet. I feel like the lesson we're supposed to be learning this time is how to trust Heavenly Father and feel peace instead of the overwhelming anxiety, even though the future looks so scary and unknown. I've been trying to focus on the moment instead of trying to figure out the future. And of course, it's much harder for Scott. He wants to work; he wants to feel useful and valued, and he just doesn't know what to do with his time. He feels guilty if he's not working since they are still paying him, but there really is nothing to do most of the time, so he feels useless. He's been finding a balance between getting some things done around the house that really need to be done (like fixing our ceiling), and wasting time waiting for something to do at work. We could use your prayers and kindness and hope that we can get through this soon.
