An update

I don't update everyone on what is going on with us often.  Sorry, but here is what we are doing.

Shana and I are doing really well.  Shana is a primary teacher and activities day person.  She just started this new calling in January, and I think the girls like her.  We will be going to palm springs next week for a conference together.  Work is really well for me.  We are hiring a lot of developers right now if any of you developers are interested or if anyone knows any developers.  We have positions for website developers, and a back-end position on Brent's team doing the web services for our mobile applications.  Tina we are exploring remote pairing, so maybe someday you can join us again.

Briggs is finishing up his last year of basketball.  The team started out winning, but has really struggled in regions.  Briggs has played really well when given the chance.  Also this past week Briggs was named to the academic all-state team which were very proud of him for.  Finally Briggs completed his mission papers this week and should have his call in the next couple weeks.  He hopes to leave as soon as school is over.  He is also planning on running track this year.

Brinn is finishing up her basketball on the sophomore team.  Today is her last game.  She is excited to start track and has been doing a couple of indoor meets.  At the BYU invitational she came is 7th in the 60M.  She has been working hard since last year to get faster, and we hope to see the results of that soon.  She is also very excited that she can jump and touch the rim a by product of her speed workouts.

Koby is also playing basketball this year.  He has been growing a lot and is getting much taller.  We also enjoy teasing him about his voice cracking every morning during scripture reading.  He has also recently started doing Jazz band at the jr. high, and really enjoyed the first practice.

Kabe is still always building things.  This week he designed and built a toilet for his valentines cards with almost no help or guidance from anyone else.  He is also currently in the choir for "Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat" at the jr. high.  He is really enjoying that and we are excited to go see him perform on Saturday.

With Briggs leaving we will be taking our family vacation this year for spring break.  We are looking forward to a trip to Kauai.  We are looking forward to relaxing on the beach, hiking, surfing and a trip along the Na Pali coast.

  1. Thanks for the update! Everyone seems to be doing great things. Kauai sounds amazing! I felt bad for Briggs when he got hurt before you went to Hawaii so I'm glad that he will get to go again. Please let us know when Briggs gets his mission call. We are really excited for him!

  4. Thanks for coming by to visit tonight. We're so glad we found the box with Kevin's high school & scout memorabilia. We wish we had known about Kabe's performance so we could have been there. Please tell us about all the activities. We'd like to be there when Briggs open his call if it's convenient to let us know. We attended an awesome concert at BYU this week where Katherine & David's choir participated with all the BYU choirs. At the end all the choirs formed a circle around almost the entire De Jong Concert Hall and asng "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" in surround sound! It was amazing.

Incidentally, we have somebody else's Eagle Scout pin and another badge, that nobody has claimed yet. Kevin thought he had his but it was in the box we found this week. Would all of the rest of the "brothers" who earned Eagle check whether you have your pin or not. We'd like to find it's true home. It needs to be cleaned up, but it's a very special award.

We love you all. We've had a really busy week & didn't know about Peter's ordeal until tonight, but we are so glad he's doing better. Please call us when there are such major issues going on in your or your kids lives, please, please, please.

  5. We will invite anyone who wants to come over when Briggs gets his call. We are thinking it will be this week, but could be next. If it is this week he won't open it until Shana and I are back either Saturday or Sunday.
